Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain to face off in 2024/25 UEFA Champions League final
The final will take place on May 31 at the famous Allianz Arena in Munich. Tickets for the match between PSG and Inter are still available for purchase online.
During the return leg in Paris, the hosts showed persistence and a desire to win, setting a high tempo from the very beginning. In the 27th minute, midfielder Fabian Ruiz opened the scoring, scoring the first goal against the English team. Midway through the second half, Vitinho failed to convert a penalty, but Achraf Hakimi soon increased the lead for the French. Despite this, Bukayo Saka managed to reduce the gap in the 76th minute. Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov remained on the bench and is unlikely to feature in the final.
Inter Milan, who will be playing their seventh Champions League final (they won in 1964, 1965 and 2010), were successful in their encounter with Barcelona. The first game ended in a draw, but the Italians confidently won the second match. Lautaro Martinez opened the scoring in the 21st minute, and then Hakan Calhanoglu successfully converted a penalty. Eric Garcia pulled one back for the Catalans, and Daniel Olmo equalized. However, Rafinha put the visitors ahead again. Francesco Acerbi tied the game at 3:3, but Davide Fratesi scored the decisive goal in overtime to secure the victory for Inter.
